Where Have You Been?

As I checked my e-mail, I wondered . . . where is everyone?  It's been awhile since I heard from close friends, some family, even blog buddies.  Hmmm.  Blog - let me check that.  OMG!!  It's been two weeks since I posted anything!!  No wonder I'm not hearing from anyone . . . they are not hearing from me!  Well, we need to fix that!

So, you are asking yourself, why haven't you been seeing any posts from Liz?  Well, I have been pretty busy (more about that later), but right here is the main reason:

groggThis is Barney and he just turned five months old!  You'll notice he looks a bit groggy in this pic.  This is the only sitting still shot I've been able to get so far!  He has two states of existence - (1) moving and (2) grogging or asleep!

That makes it hard for me to show you his wonderful, liquid eyes!  He does have such a cute little face.  It's been quite awhile since we had a puppy in this household, and we are all having quite a time making the adjustment!  Jake, included!  Most of the time he tries to ignore the squirt, but he has been quite patient about sharing a water bowl and the occasional lap.  We make sure he gets his own "special" times, 'cause I think losing the lap would be pushing the limits!!

threebears   And, yes, there is room for two on this particular lap.  This is the only photo we have that shows the contrast in size between the two pugglies.  Jake is exactly twice Barney's weight - something that is definitely noticeable when I have them both aboard!

Fiber?  Crafts?  Why, yes, I do still have time for that!  In fact, I have a couple of finished projects to share with you in the next few days.  Stay tuned.

A Little Entertainment

I've been pretty busy working on Christmas projects.  But the other day I took some time out to play with Jake.  As I was digging through a box of holiday fabric and such, something fell out.  We had to take advantage of the distraction, didn't we?

This blog is supposed to be craft related, so I don't include Jake very often.  He is always helping me, though.  Some of the better ideas came from him!

If you enjoy looking at pug pix and reading about them, here are a couple of my favs:

UFOs Uncovered

That's the name of a group I've joined on Stitchin' Fingers.  I would guess that every sewer, crafter, stitcher, whatever has some projects that just get stalled.  For a variety of reasons, progress will halt and it gets pushed to the back of the closet.

Yes, I know there are people out there who actually finish everything they start.  Not in my family, though!  And certainly not ME!  I can never really forget the UFOs, either.  We have moved quite often and every time, those Projects in Boxes (PIBs) get packed up again and transported to the new house.  Usually to be pushed to the back of the closet again!

Well, one of this year's goals was to start using books and tools that have accumulated over the years and you could say the underlying push is to clean up the studio.  That would include all those UFOs.

The SF group has decided to start today by "declaring" the UFO that is to be finished this month.  We are to post pictures of our progress (or not) so here is my starting point:

UFO-laluna startI have had these little Piggies cut out for too many years.  I have no idea how long, but the fabric is scraps from some projects in the 1980's.  Um, 20 years?

P7150029Some of you are probably thinking "why pigs?"  One of my personal quirks is that I adore pigs!  Their rubbery noses and funny snorting noises really delight me.  This may also explain my love for my little pug dog, Jake.

I have collected all manner of pig-ish figures and decorations for years.  Can you imagine how odd it feels to have a co-worker come in and say "I saw the funniest pig this weekend and I thought of you, Liz!"  Uh, thanks - I think!

Well, I think it is time these little stuffed pigs join the collection, don't you?  Wish me luck.
